Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced the resignation of Barbara Malimali from her position as Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC). Rabuka, serving as the Chair of the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC), received an email notification from the Solicitor-General, who acts as the COC Secretariat, at 8:17 AM on Saturday, September 14. This announcement follows a recent newspaper report confirming Malimali’s resignation. According to the Prime Minister, she has now been appointed as a Commissioner for the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC).
