Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced the resignation of Barbara Malimali from her position as Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC). He stated that he received an email from the Solicitor-General, who acts as the Secretariat for the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC), confirming the resignation at 8:17 AM on Saturday, September 14. This announcement follows a recent newspaper report regarding Malimali’s departure. According to the Prime Minister, she has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC).
