A 70-year-old man has been charged in connection with the alleged indecent assault of a 12-year-old girl and is set to appear in the Navua Magistrates Court today. The incident reportedly took place in the man’s home on the afternoon of August 9, 2024. Both the accused and the victim live in the same community. The victim’s uncle brought the matter to the attention of the Navua Police. The man faces one count of Indecent Assault under Section 212 (1) of the Crimes Act 2009.
