Energy Fiji Limited has announced that maintenance work will be carried out on the 132kV Wailoa to Nadarivatu Transmission Line. The maintenance will involve replacing corroded hardware on the steel lattice towers.
To facilitate this work, the transmission line will be de-energized from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 18. During this outage, power for the Western Division of Viti Levu will be sourced from the Nadarivatu Hydro Electric Power Station and various thermal power stations.
Energy Fiji Limited expressed its appreciation to hotels and other customers in the Western Division who will be off-grid from 4:00 AM to 6:00 PM to mitigate the impact of the maintenance work. This includes several major resorts and businesses in the area.
The company aims to minimize power interruptions and has scheduled the maintenance over the weekend to lessen the impact on customers during times of lower electricity demand. Should adverse weather conditions arise, the maintenance work will be postponed, and customers will be notified accordingly.
