Education Ministry officials are also allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade. Education Ministry permanent secretary Selina Kuruleca stated that some cases were currently before the court, and she could not comment on the issue for now.
Ms. Kuruleca was questioned about the involvement of teachers in the drug trade after an official’s home was recently raided by police.
Police confirmed to The Fiji Times yesterday that the raid had been carried out recently.
“There are many cases,” Ms. Kuruleca said.
“We have cases involving some of our Ministry of Education officials. Until I receive a full report, I cannot comment on it. There are Ministry of Education officials involved, that’s all I can say, but we have to work with the Solicitor-General and the court to determine what is happening.”
