The highly anticipated East vs West golf tournament is set to unfold on November 17 at the Fiji Golf Club. This one-day event promises an exhilarating competition featuring 36 holes across multiple divisions, including A, B, C, women’s, and juniors.

Golf Fiji President Amitesh Chandra shared insights into the tournament format, explaining that it will unfold in two distinct sessions. The morning session will employ the Ambrose format, where pairs from each team compete within their respective grades. In contrast, the afternoon session will transition to individual match play, where each victory earns one point, while draws will result in half a point. The team accumulating the highest points by day’s end will be crowned the champion.

Chandra further highlighted that Golf Fiji is fully financing the event, contributing $3,500 to help realize its vision. “Our focus is to promote the game and encourage healthy competition among golfers nationwide,” he emphasized. Chandra noted that events like these not only unite players but also enhance their skills and fortify the golfing community.

The East vs West tournament is expected to be a vibrant and competitive showdown, as golfers from various divisions and age groups prepare to showcase their talents on the greens.

This tournament represents a wonderful opportunity for golfers to come together, refine their skills, and foster camaraderie in the sport. With dedicated support from Golf Fiji, the event showcases their commitment to growing the sport and creating lasting connections within the golfing community.

In summary, the upcoming East vs West tournament serves as more than just a competition; it is a celebration of sportsmanship and community spirit among golfers throughout Fiji.
