Eagles Soar to Victory: Building Bonds Through Volleyball

In the X9 Nakasi volleyball tournament held in Nakasi yesterday, the Eagles women’s volleyball team secured a victory in their opening match, winning in two straight sets.

The Eagles consist of young women from the Raiwai community. Team member Ulamila Cirikisuva emphasized that the primary goal of the team is to unite the youth and foster relationships among them. She noted that such sporting events help reduce the chances of children engaging in undesirable activities in the neighborhood.

“The main aim of the team is to gather young youths and help us bond to prevent kids from going around and doing things that they are not supposed to do,” Cirikisuva stated.

She also expressed her appreciation to the event organizers for hosting the tournament, highlighting that it promotes a spirit of friendly competition and encourages young people to consider careers in sports.

“Thank you, organizers, for planning this competition, giving community kids a chance to bond and create a career path for those who love the sport,” she added.

The Eagles are enthusiastic about future opportunities to play volleyball and aspire to inspire their community while showcasing their skills.
