Drug Crackdown: Twelve Arrested in 48 Hours

Twelve individuals have been apprehended over the past two days for alleged unlawful drug possession.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, reported that multiple plastic bags containing white substances, suspected to be methamphetamine, were confiscated from a residence in Namara, Labasa, where three men were arrested.

Authorities also recovered over $1,000 in cash believed to be linked to criminal activities.

In the Western Division, specifically in Lautoka, a 26-year-old man was taken into custody after police found two plastic bags with white crystals, presumed to be methamphetamine, alongside some dried leaves thought to be marijuana.

In Rakiraki town, four men were arrested following the discovery of several sachets of suspected marijuana and multiple plastic bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine.

Additionally, two men were detained in Lautoka after being found with marijuana sachets in separate incidents.

In Nadi, a 29-year-old man was arrested after authorities discovered plants and seedlings presumed to be marijuana.

Earlier today, a team of K9 officers conducted a raid in Tavakubu, Lautoka, seizing white substances believed to be methamphetamine and arresting a 44-year-old man who is now in police custody.

Assistant Commissioner Driu emphasized the ongoing efforts to target suspected drug dealers. He stated, “We remain focused on disrupting and destabilizing the illicit drug trade with operations occurring simultaneously across all five divisions. Please continue to share information as every clue helps in reducing supply.”
