Last night, a man from Navua was arrested by the Fiji Police Force after being found in possession of illicit drugs during a search of his residence. This operation was conducted in cooperation with the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU), which utilized a search warrant to thoroughly investigate the suspect’s home.

During the search, K9 Herb, a specially trained drug detection dog, played a crucial role in identifying areas where the drugs were concealed. The search led to the discovery of a total of 171 dried plants believed to be marijuana, hidden in various locations including under a mattress, inside a wardrobe, and beneath a kitchen table. The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Fiji to combat drug-related offenses. Recent similar operations have occurred in the region, including crackdowns at Port Mua-i-Walu, resulting in additional arrests for drug trafficking.
