The Fijian Drua has bolstered its off-field operations by appointing seasoned business executive Josefa Vanuaca as its new head of sales. In this newly established position, Vanuaca will oversee ticketing, hospitality, and sponsorship initiatives as the club prepares for an exciting new season while striving to enhance its ties with the fanbase.
This move comes in the wake of the departures of previous team members, Biu Tadranu and Lailanie Burnes, who played significant roles in the club’s early development. Vanuaca brings with him over 15 years of experience in business development and finance. He holds a Commerce degree focusing on Accounting and Information Systems and has also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change.
Vanuaca’s previous experience includes a role with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. Shane Hussein, the Drua’s General Manager Commercial, expressed optimism about Vanuaca’s arrival, highlighting that he joins the organization during a period rich with growth and prospects. Hussein noted that Vanuaca will collaborate closely with Angie Lal, the head of marketing and fan experience, to make Drua events more accessible for fans and corporate clients alike.
Vanuaca expressed his pride in taking on this new role, stating, “Super Rugby has been a big part of my life, and it’s a dream to be part of it through Fijian Drua. This is a proud moment for me and my family.”
