Drua Captain Eager for Home Matches and New Season Challenges

Tevita Ikanivere, the captain of Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, is looking forward to the upcoming season, focusing on enhancing their game strategies for the matches ahead. He emphasizes the special and motivating experience of playing in front of a home crowd, similar to last season.

Ikanivere is particularly excited about the seven home games planned for the Drua, with four matches at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and three at Churchill Park in Lautoka. He is eagerly anticipating their first home game against the Brumbies, scheduled for February 15 in Suva.

Looking ahead to the new season format, Ikanivere underscores the importance of approaching each game methodically. “I saw the new format and how exciting it is. I’m really looking forward to playing the Brumbies here at home, and yes, I can’t wait for that first home game here in Suva,” Ikanivere stated.

He added, “We’ll take it one game at a time, build through the preseason and offseason, and ensure our game plans are set. I’m looking forward to all our matches next year.”

The Drua’s home games will feature matchups against the Crusaders, Brumbies, Reds, and Blues in Suva, as well as hosts Chiefs, Waratahs, and Western Force in Lautoka.
