The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has officially bid farewell to three players who have accepted overseas contracts. Centre Apisalome Vota, prop Jone Koroiduadua, and second-five Michael Naitokani will not be part of the Drua’s roster for the upcoming 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season.
Vota, a founding member of the Drua, has made 25 appearances for the club, while Koroiduadua, another original player, has played 20 matches. Naitokani joined the team in 2023 and contributed with 11 appearances during his time with the Drua.
Coach Glen Jackson expressed his gratitude to the departing players for their significant contributions and wished them success in their future endeavors.
This transition may open up new opportunities for emerging talent within the Drua, potentially strengthening the team for the future. The departures, while sad for fans, also reflect the growth and recognition of the players on an international stage, which is a testament to the quality of rugby being developed within Fiji. The organization is hopeful about maintaining its competitive spirit in the upcoming season.
In summary, the Drua is navigating changes with optimism, looking forward to future prospects while celebrating the contributions of its outgoing players.
