Driving Change: Asco Foundation Fuels Diabetes Fiji’s Mission

The Asco Foundation has made a significant contribution to Diabetes Fiji by donating a 4×4 Hilux vehicle, reinforcing its commitment to addressing the rising issue of diabetes in local communities. Ronald Kumar, the chief executive officer of Asco Motors and a trustee of the Asco Foundation, emphasized that this donation is a celebration of not just the vehicle but also a renewed pledge to the health and wellness of the community during the handover last week.

Kumar highlighted the essential work of Diabetes Fiji, expressing honor in supporting their mission. The newly donated vehicle is tailored to enhance the organization’s outreach capabilities, enabling health screenings and vital education on diabetes management. Its robust design equips it to navigate the varied terrains of the region, crucial for reaching underserved populations who often lack access to healthcare services.

Taarvish Akbhar, the board chair of Diabetes Fiji, expressed gratitude for Asco Foundation’s support, noting that the vehicle will play a key role in advancing their educational and support efforts for individuals affected by diabetes. He stated, “It will allow us to extend our reach and provide much-needed services to our communities, ultimately improving the quality of life for many individuals.”

This donation aligns with Asco Foundation’s ongoing tradition of community support as part of a broader initiative focused on health and wellness. Kumar reiterated the importance of corporate responsibility, stating that it involves cultivating healthier communities and partnering with organizations such as Diabetes Fiji to create meaningful impacts in the lives of those they serve.
