The Dominion Brothers under-21 team showcased their dominance by clinching the championship title at the Fiji Bitter Kadavu Sevens tournament. Their outstanding performance culminated in a commanding 27-7 win against the Village Boys in the cup final.
Head coach Eramaia Katavere expressed his pride in the team’s well-earned victory, crediting their success to their teamwork and dedication on the field. “It was a well-deserved win for the boys. The match was amazing, and we thank the Village Boys for an incredible contest,” Katavere stated. He highlighted the importance of the players’ familiarity with one another, which enhanced their collaboration and drive for success.
“All these boys know each other, and playing together makes a significant difference since we are all here to win. After the match, we can be friends again, but we must focus on our performance on the field.”
Despite the competitive spirit during the match, camaraderie prevailed off the field, reinforcing the value of sportsmanship. However, the celebration was overshadowed by concern for a teammate who sustained an injury during the intense competition. “It was sad that one of our teammates was injured in the match, and we will be concerned about his health,” he noted.
Looking ahead, the team is committed to regrouping and continuing their rigorous training to prepare for future tournaments in the Fiji Bitter series. The triumph was not only a significant achievement for the young athletes but also a proud moment shared with their families and supporters.
