Discipline Wins: Teen’s Journey to the Baton of Honour

Mosese Tuimatai, a student from Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, highlighted the importance of living with discipline, emphasizing its long-term benefits. The 18-year-old, who hails from Maumi Village in Bau, Tailevu, expressed surprise when he was announced as the recipient of the Baton of Honour.

As the first member of his family to complete Year 13, Mosese reflected on a lesson his father instilled in him from a young age. He stressed the significance of listening to one’s parents and shared how the cadet training program contributed to his self-discipline.

“The cadet training program teaches us self-discipline. It is a way for students to learn discipline, which often benefits us in the long run. I thank the teachers for allowing the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces to train us. They instilled discipline that helps students,” he stated.

Mosese has ambitions of becoming a marine engineer and expressed his gratitude for reaching this achievement with the support of his family. “I thank God for making it possible for me to reach this point. My family has been my biggest supporter, and I am grateful to each one of them,” he remarked.

He added that receiving the Baton of Honour was unexpected, leaving him both happy and grateful.
