Discipline Pays Off: Meet Fiji’s Baton of Honour Hero

Mosese Tuimatai, the recipient of the Baton of Honour from Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, emphasized the importance of living with discipline for long-term benefits. This 18-year-old, hailing from Maumi Village in Bau, Tailevu, expressed his surprise upon receiving the award.

As the first member of his family to reach Year 13, Mosese reflected on a valuable lesson instilled in him by his father during his childhood. He noted, “It is important for us as children to listen to our parents.” He attributed much of his self-discipline to his participation in the cadet training program, which he believes prepares students for a disciplined life.

“I thank the teachers for allowing the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces to train us. They instilled discipline that helps students,” he stated. Mosese has ambitions to become a marine engineer.

Gratefully acknowledging his journey, he said, “I thank God for making it possible for me to reach this point. My family has been my biggest supporter, and I am grateful to each one of them.” Surprised by receiving the Baton of Honour, he expressed his happiness and gratitude for this achievement.
