Discipline Pays Off: Inspiring Journey of Baton of Honour Winner

Mosese Tuimatai, a recipient of the Baton of Honour from Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, emphasized the importance of discipline for long-term benefits. The 18-year-old, hailing from Maumi Village in Bau, Tailevu, shared that his father instilled this lesson in him from a young age. He expressed his surprise when he was called to receive the award and noted that he is the first in his family to reach Year 13.

“It is important for us as children to listen to our parents,” he stated. Mosese highlighted how the cadet training program has taught him self-discipline, which can significantly benefit students in the future. He expressed gratitude to the teachers and the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces for instilling this discipline.

Mosese aspires to become a marine engineer and thanked God for helping him reach this milestone. He also acknowledged the support of his family, saying, “They have been my biggest supporters, and I am grateful to each one of them.” Despite not expecting to receive the Baton of Honour, he expressed his happiness and gratitude for the recognition.
