A fire in Caubati, Nasinu on Tuesday, September 3, has left 22 individuals displaced after it destroyed two wooden houses. The National Fire Authority received the emergency call at 9:59 AM, and crews from Valelevu, Suva, and Nakasi Fire Stations quickly responded. By 11:12 AM, the fire was reported to be under control, but it caused significant damage, with over 95% of both homes affected. One residence was home to 17 people, while the other housed 5.
