The New South Wales Police Force is actively searching for a Fijian man who was reported missing on Sunday while in the Murrumbidgee River, located in the state’s south region.
Emergency services responded to calls at Middle Beach in Yanco after reports emerged of a 32-year-old man missing in the river. Officers from the Murrumbidgee Police District, alongside NSW Ambulance, the State Emergency Service (SES), and the Volunteer Rescue Association, launched a comprehensive search effort. Unfortunately, these efforts did not yield results, and the search was suspended around 8 PM due to the onset of darkness and perilous river conditions.
Despite the setback, the police confirmed that the search would continue, urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in locating the man.
This situation highlights the importance of community involvement during search operations, as collective vigilance can make a significant difference in such critical circumstances. It’s hopeful that with the combined efforts of the police and community, they may find the missing person safely.
