A group of 43 passengers from Vanuatu, who are currently stranded in Nadi, Fiji, has checked out of the Tanoa International Hotel and is now actively seeking more affordable lodging alternatives. Fiji Airways has communicated the possibility of a flight back to Port Vila as early as Saturday, pending necessary clearances for Bauerfield Airport, which has experienced damage to both its runway and terminal facilities.

Neselinda Meta, the spokesperson for the group, stated that the Vanuatu High Commission is providing assistance with accommodation arrangements. Many passengers find themselves in precarious financial situations, with some running low on funds while they wait for further updates regarding their travel plans.

This situation highlights the importance of international cooperation in times of difficulty, with the Vanuatu High Commission stepping in to support its citizens in navigating these challenges. As the passengers await their flight, it is hopeful that they will soon be able to return home safely.
