Department of Education Launches Investigation into Transgender Athlete Policies in Portland Schools

The U.S. Department of Education announced a formal investigation into the Portland, Oregon, school district regarding its policies allowing a transgender athlete to join female sports teams and use girls’ locker rooms. This investigation raises questions about compliance with federal laws intended to protect women’s rights in educational settings.

Additionally, the inquiry also involves the Oregon School Activities Association, which has a policy permitting transgender students to compete based on their gender identity, diverging from the sex assigned at birth.
