A 36-year-old woman accused of causing the death of an elderly woman in an accident on Queens Road on August 18, 2024, has been granted bail. The woman was charged with Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death and appeared in court at the Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday.
Reports indicate that she lost control of her vehicle near the Viseisei Bypass, causing it to veer off the road and collide with a post. The force of the impact caused her vehicle to swing back onto the road, hitting another car in the process.
Sadly, a 75-year-old woman who was traveling with the accused suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The case has been postponed until October 15, 2024.
