The deadline for applications to the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards has been extended by four days due to a high volume of interest, now closing on Friday, October 4, 2024.

More than 200 applications have been received so far, with CEO Kamal Chetty highlighting the eagerness of Fijian businesses to showcase their accomplishments and their role in the country’s economic development.

“The extension was made to give more applicants the opportunity to submit their entries correctly,” Chetty explained.

All award categories have attracted submissions, with a wide variety of businesses seeking recognition. Investment Fiji is particularly pleased with the focus on sustainability and innovation shown by many applicants.

“Numerous esteemed companies have demonstrated their capabilities and dedication to the nation,” Chetty noted.

This year, new categories such as the Excellence in Employer Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, and Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award have garnered notable interest.

“This reflects a growing awareness of responsible business practices and a commitment to making a positive impact on our communities and environment,” Chetty added.

The Prime Minister’s International Business Awards aim to celebrate exceptional Fijian businesses that have made significant contributions through outstanding operations and leadership.

The theme for this year, Business Innovation and Sustainability, highlights the changing nature of business contributions.

Businesses are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline tomorrow. For more information and to access the application, please visit www.iba.org.fj.
