CWM Hospital and Oceania Hospitals Sign Partnership to Reduce Surgical Backlogs

CWM Hospital and Oceania Hospitals have entered into a Memorandum of Agreement to address surgical backlogs. As part of this public-private partnership, Oceania Hospitals is aiding CWM Hospital by handling its waiting list for non-emergency surgical services, with no cost to patients.

Per the agreement, Oceania Hospitals will provide urgent medical attention to patients while the Ministry of Health will cover surgery expenses. The primary aim of this partnership is to alleviate the surgical backlog at CWM Hospital.

Oceania Hospitals has allocated one operating theatre for gynaecology and general surgery cases, operating five days a week, to meet this objective.

The agreement is set to last between three to six months, with a possibility of extension depending on demand.
