Cuvu College’s U18 Rugby Team Aims for Glory in Semi-Finals!

The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in the scrums. Assistant coach Samisoni Navatu shared insights on the team’s ongoing development after their narrow 23-22 victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, a favorite for the Vodafone Deans Trophy, during the quarterfinals.

Navatu acknowledged that there is still potential for improvement, even after the thrilling match. “Glory to God for this win,” he expressed. “We came here with the goal to win, and we achieved that. Credit goes to the boys for their outstanding effort.”

He also addressed the confusion regarding the final score, as officials initially declared RKS the victor before reversing the decision. “We were relieved when the mistake was corrected, but our work is not complete. Some of our players are still 17, while some have turned 18, and they managed to come together effectively,” he added.

Navatu is encouraging their dedicated fans to support them enthusiastically as they prepare for their semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
