The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focusing on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. This was communicated to SUNsports by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu.
Despite achieving a narrow 23-22 victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, the favorites for the Vodafone Deans Trophy, Navatu emphasized that there is still significant room for development.
Speaking about the match, he described it as a challenging encounter. “Glory to God for this win,” he stated. “We came here with the goal to win, and we accomplished that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”
Navatu expressed confusion over the initial announcement of RKS as the winner, which was later corrected. “We were pleased when the decision was overturned, but our work is not finished yet. Some players are still 17 years old, while others are 18, but they managed to make it work,” he noted.
He also urged their dedicated fans to rally in support of the team as they prepare for their semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
