Cuvu College RUGBY Team Upsets RKS: What’s Next?

The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in the scrum area. This insight comes from assistant coach Samisoni Navatu, who spoke to SUNsports following the team’s 23-22 surprise victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, a favorite for the Vodafone Deans Trophy, in the quarterfinals.

Navatu acknowledged the team’s ongoing improvement despite their win, stating, “There is still room for improvement.” He described the match as a challenging battle and expressed gratitude for the victory, saying, “Glory to God for this win. We came here with the goal to win and we did that. Credit to the boys for a job well done.”

The coach also expressed concern over a scoring error that initially resulted in RKS being declared the winner. “We were happy when the decision was reversed, but the job is not done yet,” he noted. While some players are still 17, others are 18, they managed to pull together effectively, he added.

Navatu is urging their dedicated fans to support the team by attending the semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School this Saturday.
