The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. This was communicated to SUNsports by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu.
Despite achieving a narrow 23-22 victory against the heavily favored Ratu Kadavulevu School in the quarterfinals, Navatu emphasized that there is still much to improve. He described the match as intense and attributed their success to divine guidance.
“We came here with the goal to win, and we achieved that. Credit goes to the boys for a job well done,” he stated.
Navatu expressed surprise over a mix-up with the final score when officials initially declared RKS as the winner. However, he welcomed the decision’s reversal, while noting that their journey is far from over. “Some of our players are still 17, while others are 18, but they managed to perform well,” he remarked.
He urged their passionate supporters to rally behind the team as they prepare for the semi-final against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
