Cuvu College Rugby Team Aims for More After Upset Victory

The Cuvu College Under-18 rugby team is focused on enhancing their performance, particularly in scrums. This was shared by assistant coach Samisoni Navatu during an interview yesterday.

Navatu acknowledged that while there is still room for growth, Cuvu College recently achieved a surprising 23-22 victory over Ratu Kadavulevu School, the favorites for the Vodafone Deans Trophy, in the quarterfinals.

He described the match as intense and expressed gratitude for the win. “Glory to God for this victory,” he stated. “We came here with the aim to win, and we accomplished that. Credit goes to the players for their hard work.”

Navatu also mentioned some confusion regarding the final score, as officials initially announced RKS as the winner. “We were pleased when the decision was corrected, but the journey is not over yet. Some of our players are still 17, while others are 18, but they managed to pull through,” he added.

He urged the team’s loyal supporters to rally together in large numbers to cheer them on in the semi-final match against Nasinu Secondary School on Saturday.
