Court to Hear Shocking Robbery Case Involving Trio Arrested in Vatuwaqa

Three men are set to appear in a special court session this morning, facing charges related to an aggravated robbery that occurred last month. The trio is accused of stealing a vehicle, which they allegedly used to execute a robbery at the Lalita Bhindi sub-division in Vatuwaqa. During this incident, they reportedly stole a safe and various electronic goods belonging to a local businessman.

The arrests of these three individuals, aged 36, 37, and 40, were made following extensive investigations conducted by the Southern Division and Samabula task forces. These teams pursued multiple leads that culminated in the apprehension of the suspects in Raiwaqa earlier this week.

The men have been indicted on multiple charges, including criminal trespass, aiding and abetting the theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, aiding and abetting aggravated burglary, aiding and abetting aggravated robbery, and serious assault. They will be presented at the Suva Magistrates Court.

This situation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to address crime and ensure the safety of the community.
