Three individuals are set to appear before a special court this morning to face charges related to an aggravated robbery that occurred last month. The suspects, aged 36, 37, and 40, are accused of stealing a vehicle, which was then used to carry out a robbery at the Lalita Bhindi sub-division in Vatuwaqa. During this incident, they allegedly took a safe and various electronic items belonging to a local businessman.

Following the report of the robbery, law enforcement agencies, including the Southern Division and Samabula task forces, pursued multiple leads that ultimately led to the arrest of the three suspects from Raiwaqa earlier this week. Each suspect is facing several charges, including criminal trespass, aiding and abetting the theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, as well as aiding and abetting in both aggravated burglary and robbery, along with a charge of serious assault.

The suspects will be presented at the Suva Magistrates Court, where the legal proceedings will unfold.

This incident highlights the collaborative efforts of law enforcement in tackling crime and ensuring justice for victims. Despite the challenges posed by such criminal acts, the swift action by authorities reflects a strong commitment to maintaining public safety. As the case progresses, it serves as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and support for law enforcement in combating crime.
