Three individuals are set to appear in a special court session this morning, facing charges related to their suspected involvement in an aggravated robbery that occurred last month. They are accused of stealing a vehicle, which was subsequently used in a robbery at the Lalita Bhindi sub-division in Vatuwaqa. During this incident, various items were taken, including a safe and electronic goods, all of which belong to a local businessman.
Following the reported incident, the Southern Division and Samabula task forces actively pursued multiple leads, which ultimately led to the apprehension of the three suspects from Raiwaqa earlier this week. The accused, aged 36, 37, and 40, each face multiple charges, including criminal trespass, theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and serious assault.
They will be presented in the Suva Magistrates Court for a hearing.
This situation highlights the ongoing commitment of local law enforcement agencies to tackle crime in the community, as swift actions by the Southern Division and Samabula task forces have led to the arrests. It serves as a reminder of the importance of effective policing and community cooperation in maintaining safety and security.
