Suva Magistrate Krishnan Prasad has directed the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption to provide former Fiji Broadcasting Corporation CEO Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and CFO Vimlesh Sagar with second phase disclosures by 4:30 PM today. This ruling was made in a morning session of the court.
The court also observed that Sagar, who is currently out on bail, does not have a second surety documented in court records. Sayed-Khaiyum faces charges of abuse of office and general dishonesty causing a loss, while Sagar is charged with general dishonesty causing a loss.
In a separate case, Sayed-Khaiyum again faces charges of abuse of office and general dishonesty causing a loss, with Sagar similarly charged with general dishonesty. The case has been scheduled to resume on August 31, 2024, for plea, and Magistrate Prasad has returned the matter to Court One.
