A 25-year-old man has been charged with the alleged murder of a 27-year-old individual from Buakonikai in Rabi. According to a statement issued by the Fiji Police, the Criminal Investigations Department’s major crime unit has taken action following the incident that reportedly took place on October 20.
Authorities claim that the accused engaged in a physical altercation with the victim during an argument, which ultimately led to the victim’s death. Following the completion of the investigation, the police sought guidance from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, which resulted in the sanction of the murder charge.
The suspect has since appeared in court at the Savusavu Magistrate’s Court.
