The 2024 BIL Ba Rugby Tikina Championships will kick off next Thursday, as confirmed by the Ba Rugby Union (BRU). Organizers are eager to finalize preparations before the event. Rugby officials are urging teams that have not yet submitted their Tikina registration forms to do so quickly. This includes the teams from Bulu, Nailaga, Naloto, Qaliyalatina, Savatu, and Veiyasana.
To maintain fairness and facilitate smooth operations during the tournament, the Ba Rugby Union has established guidelines prohibiting individuals from holding multiple roles, such as managing both the Under-19 and Women’s teams, to prevent conflicts of interest.
However, the launch faces some logistical issues. Teams like Magodro and Naloto in the Women’s division, along with Qaliyalatina, Savatu, and Yakete in the Men’s division, have yet to return their 2023 uniforms.
Once these issues are resolved before the launch, the championship is set to provide an exciting opportunity for local rugby talent as the 2024 season begins.
