Suva Magistrate Krishnan Prasad has instructed the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption to deliver second phase disclosures to former Fiji Broadcasting Corporation chief executive Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and chief financial officer Vimlesh Sagar by 4:30 p.m. today.
This directive was issued during a court session this morning. The court also observed that Sagar, who is out on bail, does not have a second surety documented in the court records.
Sayed-Khaiyum faces charges of one count of abuse of office and one count of general dishonesty causing a loss. Sagar is charged with one count of general dishonesty leading to a loss.
In a separate case, Sayed-Khaiyum has additional charges of abuse of office and general dishonesty, with Sagar also facing a charge of general dishonesty causing a loss.
The court has scheduled the matter for a plea hearing on 31 August 2024 and has transferred the case back to Court One.
