Suva Magistrate Krishnan Prasad has instructed the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption to provide the second phase disclosures to former Fiji Broadcasting Corporation CEO Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Chief Financial Officer Vimlesh Sagar by 4:30 PM today. This directive was issued during a court session held this morning.
The court also observed that Sagar, who is currently out on bail, does not have a second surety recorded in the court files. Sayed-Khaiyum faces charges including one count of abuse of office and one count of general dishonesty causing a loss, while Sagar is charged with one count of general dishonesty resulting in a loss.
In a separate case, Sayed-Khaiyum is again charged with one count of abuse of office and one count of general dishonesty leading to a loss, with Sagar facing the same charge of general dishonesty causing a loss.
The court proceedings have been adjourned until August 31, 2024, for a plea, and Magistrate Prasad has transferred the case back to Court One.
