Opposition MP Viliame Naupoto has resigned from his position as the Opposition Whip, effective immediately.
Notifying the Speaker this morning, the Leader of Opposition Inia Seruiratu stated that this action was necessary.
When approached by the media outside Parliament, Naupoto said it was only fair for him to step down.
In the interim, Jone Usamate will serve as the Opposition Whip until a permanent appointment is made.
