Investment Fiji has verified that David Group Pte Ltd registered with them in July 2022, focusing on integrated resort development. Recently, the Fijian consultant Sandeep Singh revealed that the David Group is a fraudulent company that aimed to build a multi-million-dollar casino and sports facility in Nadi.
“Investment Fiji would like to emphasize that we did not facilitate any meetings for David Group Pte Ltd,” stated Investment Fiji CEO Kamal Chetty. “Like any other prospective investor, they approached Investment Fiji to explore the process of investing in Fiji, and we met with them accordingly. David Group Pte Ltd independently organized their own meetings.”
Mr. Chetty added that since the new Investment Act 2021 was enacted on August 1st, 2022, Investment Fiji has transformed into a comprehensive investment and trade promotion agency. “As part of this transition, the organization is no longer responsible for issuing Foreign Investment Registration Certificates. However, Investment Fiji continues to facilitate investment projects and conducts internal due diligence on investors,” he explained.
