Prashantika Prasad, a 22-year-old aspiring fashion model, is actively seeking to enhance her confidence as she competes for the Miss Fiji Universe 2024 title in Mexico later this year. Currently a fourth-year MBBS student at the University of Fiji’s Saweni Campus in Lautoka, Prasad has taken this opportunity to cultivate her self-assurance.
She expressed her motivation for entering the pageant by stating, “I entered this pageant to take up an opportunity that does not always come by in hopes of becoming more confident.” Her main message focuses on promoting self-confidence and taking advantage of available opportunities. Prasad remarked, “While they’re up for grabs, spontaneous things are the scariest, but they help in your growth the most.”
In addition to personal confidence, she aims to raise awareness and provide support in fostering a resilient society centered on youth empowerment. This includes promoting education and assisting in the rehabilitation of individuals battling mental health challenges and drug addiction. Prasad’s aspiration is to complete her studies and work as a healthcare provider.
She appreciates the respect earned by those who excel in such significant platforms and emphasizes the value of female unity, stating, “I have learnt so much from all the contestants.”
A former deputy head girl at Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College in Nadi, Prasad was involved in her school’s band and sang the lead in the official music video for their song “My School.” Following in her father’s musical footsteps, she is an active singer and also contributes as a lead member of the University of Fiji’s musical band. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis and participating in community service through medical camps.
