The 29-year-old military personnel admitted he did not anticipate the match would be decided by penalties, but once it became clear, he volunteered to take the final kick.
After having missed a penalty in the semifinals, Wasasala was determined to redeem himself in the final and silence his critics. He shared that he constantly reassured his teammates of his intent to take the last penalty, citing his confidence in his ability to secure the victory for Labasa.

Looking ahead, Wasasala confirmed his intention to remain with the Babasiga Lions for the upcoming season as he aims to mentor and support emerging strikers within the squad. He is now preparing for the forthcoming Sukuna Bowl challenge next month in Suva, where he will represent the RFMF soccer team against the Fiji Police Force.
