Last week, the Hilton Special School organized a successful walk-a-thon fundraiser that raised $10,767.90 with the participation of 160 individuals. The event aimed to gather financial support for the construction of an essential walkway to improve the school’s facilities and ensure the safety of its students.
Head of the school, Ashwini Mudliar, expressed gratitude for the strong turnout, noting the school’s ambitious fundraising goal of $13,000. She remains optimistic that additional donations will help them reach this target. “The walk-a-thon was organized to support the construction of a much-needed walkway, as our students currently have to use an over 60-year-old driveway, posing significant safety risks.”
Mudliar emphasized the desire to create a secure and accessible path for students to navigate the school grounds safely. She also highlighted the commitment of the school’s dedicated teachers, involved parents, diligent management, and esteemed trustees, whose collective efforts contributed to the success of the event.
This initiative reflects the strong community spirit and commitment to student safety and well-being, showcasing the positive impact of collaborative efforts in enriching the educational environment. The school continues to hope for further support from generous donors to achieve its vision.
In summary, the Hilton Special School’s walk-a-thon demonstrated unwavering community support, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing student safety and the overall school environment. With continued donations, the project is poised to make a significant difference for the school community.
