Community Shaken: 70-Year-Old Charged in Indecent Assault Case

A 70-year-old man has been charged and is set to appear in the Navua Magistrates Court today for allegedly indecently assaulting a 12-year-old girl. The offense is said to have occurred in his home on the afternoon of August 9, 2024. Both the accused and the victim live in the same community. The incident was reported to the Navua Police by the victim’s uncle. The man faces one count of Indecent Assault under Section 212 (1) of the Crimes Act 2009.
