The public will soon learn the names of those appointed to the Commission of Inquiry regarding the appointment of FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali and allegations made by the former acting deputy commissioner of the institute. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced that the Cabinet will convene on Tuesday to review a proposal for forming the commission.
He indicated that the inquiry would address the recent issues involving FICAC, Ms. Malimali, and former acting deputy commissioner Francis Puleiwai. The Cabinet paper will outline the terms of reference and suggest members for the Commission of Inquiry. In response to questions, Mr. Rabuka mentioned that the commission could potentially include international members.
