Classroom Crunch: A Principal’s Plea for Expansion

Josefa Draunidalo, the principal of Yasayasa Moala College located in Naroi Village, Lau, has expressed the urgent need for additional classrooms and teachers’ quarters. He highlighted that the college has ceased enrollment of students from the neighboring islands of Matuku and Totoya due to insufficient classroom space to accommodate the growing number of students.

Draunidalo noted that the demand for teachers’ quarters has been a long-standing issue. He is currently collaborating with alumni to address this concern, emphasizing the importance of teachers’ welfare.

With the rising student enrollment, the college is unable to continue accepting new students from the two nearby islands. Draunidalo stated that more classrooms are necessary to provide optional classes, and he is patiently awaiting potential financial support to improve the situation.
