Josefa Draunidalo, the principal of Yasayasa Moala College, has highlighted the urgent need for additional classrooms and housing for teachers at the school located in Naroi Village, Lau. Due to insufficient classroom space, the institution has ceased to admit students from the nearby islands of Matuku and Totoya.
Mr. Draunidalo emphasized that the lack of teachers’ quarters has been a long-standing issue. He noted that the school is currently collaborating with alumni to seek support for improving conditions for teachers, acknowledging the importance of their welfare.
With the growing student population, the college has been unable to accommodate newcomers from Matuku and Totoya. Mr. Draunidalo mentioned that more classrooms are necessary to offer optional classes and expressed hope for future financial assistance to address these challenges.
