Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou, President of the Methodist Church of Fiji, has urged the Church to avoid stagnation in its conservative approach. During the opening of the Church’s conference, known as the ‘Bose Ko Viti,’ he emphasized the need for a transformation in mindsets and attitudes as the Church is guided by the Holy Spirit.
He warned that if members are not prepared to embrace change, God may raise up others to advance His Church. “God does not require our approval and will achieve His purposes with those who are willing to partner with Christ in restoring His true image within the Church,” he stated.
Reverend Turagavou encouraged the Church to step out of its comfort zones and called on delegates and members to actively engage in missions. He stressed that the Church must reflect its belief in a relational God, urging it to extend its boundaries and adopt a more inclusive and relational approach, as inspired by the teachings of Jesus.
