The Chinese Embassy in Suva has provided a $40,000 grant to support Inspire Pacific, an NGO dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk children and promoting community growth in Fiji.
Zhou Jian, the Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, presented the grant to Ben Morrison, Co-Founder of Inspire Pacific, to assist the organization in empowering young people through initiatives like the TAGANE MAI Rehabilitation & Integration Program.
Ambassador Jian emphasized the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection’s significant contributions to women’s rights, children’s care, and the protection of the vulnerable under the Coalition Government’s leadership. He expressed the Embassy’s honor in supporting the Ministry’s Child Rehabilitation and Well-being program to enhance the lives of Fiji’s citizens.
During the event, Lynda Tabuya, Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, expressed profound gratitude to the Chinese Ambassador for their generosity in positively impacting the lives of at-risk children. She noted that the donation would significantly enhance the resources and support for Inspire Pacific’s rehabilitation programs.
Tabuya praised Inspire Pacific for their efforts in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children needing rehabilitation and integration support.
Inspire Pacific’s efforts align with the Ministry’s mission to establish a Child Rehabilitation and Well-being Centre, offering care and protection to children, juveniles, and young street dwellers affected by drug abuse and crime.
This grant will enable Inspire Pacific to offer vital support to at-risk youth, helping them through a structured program of rehabilitation, personal development, and reintegration into society.
The organization’s holistic approach, which includes practical training, emotional support, and community engagement, aims to help individuals overcome challenges and build better futures.
