China’s Gateway to Fijian Delights: What’s Next?

China aims to increase the importation of Fijian goods into its vast market. The Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Zhou Jian, emphasized the importance of capitalizing on market opportunities during an event in Suva last Friday.

Mr. Zhou stated, “As China develops a unified national market with a population of 1.4 billion, it will unlock greater domestic demand.” He expressed optimism about the potential for Fiji to export more products, including mineral water, skincare items, and noni fruits, to China.

The Ambassador noted the promising future for economic and trade relations between China and Fiji, also inviting Fiji to engage with China’s significant outbound tourism market. He suggested that establishing a direct flight between the two nations would be advantageous in attracting more Chinese tourists to Fiji.

He concluded by reaffirming China’s commitment to collaborate with Fiji to harness the opportunities presented by ongoing technological advancements and industrial transformations.
