Liu Ke, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor for the Chinese Embassy, echoed Ali’s sentiments, reinforcing that China poses no threat to Fiji or its region. He encouraged Fijians to travel to China to immerse themselves in its rich culture and traditions, advising them to base their understanding of China on personal experiences rather than media narratives.

Liu stated, “Once you have done this, then make an informed decision on whether China is a friend or foe!” He affirmed that, for now, business relations between Fiji and China are proceeding smoothly.
